Martin Rogers CO-FOUNDER & GROUP LEADER
Martin is an entrepreneur with a deep passion for helping others.
Like many entrepreneurs before him Martin didn’t always know that he wanted to pursue a career in business. After completing an Industrial Chemistry degree and Masters of Commerce at the University of New South Wales, Martin had ...his first exposure to business when he was employed at Unilever (a global consumer products company). During his time at Unilever Martin enjoyed learning about all the aspects of running a business and came to realise that his passion was to pursue being an entrepreneur and a business owner.
In his late 20’s Martin left his corporate career and purchased his first business – a security business with his brother, Owen. With hard work and by putting a solid business plan in place Martin and Owen’s business soon achieved an annual turnover of several million dollars. In addition to security, Martin has also been involved in mortgage broking, a trades and services directory, business coaching & more recently a not for profit venture to remember our fallen called Poppy Park.
Being involved in other people’s businesses, through his variety of business interests, Martin learnt that he enjoyed talking to others and assisting them to grow their business – with his own personal business success, he had a wealth of information to share.
Martin now sees it as a priority to help others to be the best they can be, to remind them to have fun and encourage them to share their story and leave a legacy. These principals he has brought to Humanise, through the 3 Pillars of Time Out, Tap into Life and Give Back.
As part of a large family (he is the youngest of nine children), Martin has maintained a sense of the importance of a balanced lifestyle and his family are very important to him. Regularly venturing away for weekend trips to the beach, enjoying supporting their rugby league team and cheering on almost any Australian sport.
Martin’s future ambitions include furthering his business interests, developing a national network for Humanise, pursuing a professional speaking career, writing a book and running a marathon. He aims to continue to help others to find clarity in their business and family life and more importantly to continue enjoying life and creating meaningful memories with his family and friends.
A statement made to Martin at an early age by his mother, “You are already rich and someday you’ll have money,” has proven a main stay in his thoughts and reminds him daily of the truly important things in life.
