The day long program involves the students interacting with local business people, learning practical skills, such as resume writing, first impressions and personal grooming…listening to sound advice and hearing first hand, the experiences and lessons learn’t by the business people as they have travelled on their journeys…All this combined with a focus on instilling in each student a confidence to discover their passions and become the best them they can be, results in a day that is beneficial for all involved, the students, the school and wider business community...
The day culminates in a lunch where the business owners and students share a meal together, further cementing the connection between school and the workforce…Easily summed up by one student who on her feedback form wrote: “I really enjoyed the lunch as I realised that bosses aren’t that scary”…
